This is a general reading. Please consider booking a reading, if you’d like to know more about how this lunation might affect you based on your Rising Sign and natal house positions.

Jupiter is the ruler of this lunation, and though exalted as it is now in the sign of Cancer, we shouldn't forget Jupiter is a storm god and isn't all balloons and blessings, no matter what the memes and pop-astrology want to sell you.
This full Moon occurs on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 2:42 a.m. CST at 20 degrees Sagittarius, two days after Jupiter moved into Cancer for thirteen months. But there's an antagonistic and challenging welcome-party waiting for Jupiter in early Aries: Saturn and Neptune.
Jupiter will square Saturn and Neptune on Sunday, June 15, and this is arguably the most significant planetary aspect happening in June. Mid-June is a very volatile period and marks an important turning point for 2025 and in the on-going, 20-year Jupiter/Saturn cycle.
I’ll return to this in a bit after a brief, broader look at the Sagittarius full moon happening a few days before.

This year's full moon in Sagittarius is in mutual reception with Jupiter, it's ruler: Jupiter in the Moon’s house and The Moon in Jupiter’s house. This means there's a very cooperative flow between the two energies, as if they’re house-sitting for each other at the same time. But, with a Sagittarian full moon, emotions can easily conflate with political, religious or philosophical ideals; family and what family actually means. Defensive behavior could be amped up a bit.
There’s an exaggerated, if not overwhelming outpouring of pent-up energy available now that Jupiter is in Cancer. Mars wreaked havoc a couple of months ago in Cancer when retrograde, and started to pull back its bow, eyeing the Summer Solstice.
Unconscious needs for protection and security -- whether outward or inward -- become more of a focus than usual as this time passes. Home, nation, faith, family and freedom are a few areas of experience and memory opened up by this full moon, and perhaps exaggerated by Jupiter.
There’s joy and bouyant optimism in the air on a personal level for a lot of us, but also a wide risk of fanaticism, charged emotion or even political or religious aggression in the home -- or home nation -- if unchecked by Saturn in Aries. Emotional, righteous reactivity is elevated now.
It’s a big, booming, boisterous energy with a lot of emotions to be vocal about. Mercury, ruler of one half of this lunation, just squared Saturn and Neptune in Aries after conjoining Jupiter on June 8. This could reflect a recent break in communication between people or groups who typically share a common strategic goal or dream. Family arguments, sibling rivalries or roommate stand-offs could seem confusing and overblown.
However, with Mercury now separating from challenging relationship with Saturn and Neptune, and in a good aspect to Venus in her domicile of Taurus, communication should be opening up, resolving itself and becoming more clear and emotionally productive as Mercury travels deeper into Cancer.
There’s either already been an important emotional conversation, perhaps with a family member or someone considered family; or an exchange of this kind is on the way and will tap into sensitive topics having something to do with the recent Mars retrograde through the Cancer parts of our charts.
Mars in Leo is in an exact trine with Chiron in Aries now. Look for creative solutions to problems or instances that maybe hurt or wounded you or family members in some capacity. This could be a parent, child, or a domestic partner.
Whatever the issue was earlier in the year, between early February and late March when these archetypal energies were square, feels less hurtful and bitter now and could be healed even more through deep conversation about ideals for the future, studying something new together, or perhaps making some long-distance travel plans.
What’s being worked out now in regard to the people closest to you? What’s approaching resolution in family, security or home matters after a difficult or disruptive episode? Or, what is being worked out internally, in the most private realms of your being and pushed toward a new level of development and spiritual growth?

Jupiter square Saturn & Neptune + Mars square Uranus
As I mentioned earlier, Jupiter, while definitely a benevolent bringer of joy, abundance, prosperity, growth and wisdom, we can't forget he is also a storm god and king, who in myth, often enacted grave punishment via grand displays of thunder and lightning if his authority was not understood. Every planetary archetype has a shadow.
On June 15 we'll see the last of three Jupiter/Saturn squares become exact and be felt for months to come. In fact we've been in it for almost a year.
This sequence of three — three due to both Saturn and Jupiter retrograding at different times — is the opening square of the current Jupiter/Saturn cycle that started December 21, 2020 when Jupiter and Saturn were conjunct at 0 degrees Aquarius. That conjunction seeded the events and changes and conditions we’ve been introduced to, especially on the world socio-economic and political stage, since the 2020 pandemic. Now we’re coming to the end of the opening square of this new cycle.
When Jupiter and Saturn square, cultural, political and societal moments of tension and change are highlighted and pushed toward new levels of evolution. These squares happen every ten years or so and the effects ripple through the years to come.
I think after June 15 the world is pushed into new, irreversible territory most of us have seen on the horizon for a while. It's as if we know we're entering a new socioeconomic and political reality, but the final corner into this new world hasn't been fully turned.
The sequence of transits and ingresses between the first Jupiter/Saturn square and this last one all played significant roles in this unfolding and are too many to go into here. But, if you're interested, an outline of this sequence is at the end of this article.
This final Jupiter/Saturn square of the sequence is the only one of the three to take place in cardinal signs (Aries and Cancer). The previous two in August and December 2024 were in the mutable signs of Pisces and Gemini. This is also the only one involving Neptune, newly in Aries after over a decade in Pisces and now at 1 degrees of Aries, conjunct Saturn.
What this means is there's a very different tone and quality to this square on June 15 than the previous two. The energy now is more decisive and forward-moving; action is being taken that wasn't accessible before. Aries and Cancer initiate, push, force beginnings and make shit happen.
Saturn and Neptune are in Mars’s domicile of Aries, being offered mars-like resources to express themselves there; yet Saturn is weakened in Aries (the god of Time, exalted on the first day of autumn, does not feel at home in the house of rebirth and spring) and this alters the way Saturnian energy shows up. Jupiter in Cancer is in very strong dignity; however, it's also under the beams of the Sun and losing strength as the Sun approaches it to renew their synodic cycle when they conjoin on June 24 -- this will be a symbolic rebirth moment for Jupiter, and until mid-July, Jupiter will not be in full exaltation.
On the surface then, this square would seem to represent a pretty equal challenge due to Jupiter and Saturn being slightly debilitated, if it weren't for the simultaneous Mars/Uranus square. On the same day Jupiter and Saturn square up — June 15 — Mars squares Uranus at 28 Leo/Taurus.
Mars, squaring Uranus, is hosting Saturn and Neptune, which I think gives the Aries side of this square a slight upper hand even though Saturn is in its fall.
These two aspects happening at the same time is socio-political lighting in a bottle; gasoline and a rag in a bottle; violent governmental overreach and suppression in a bottle.
This is playing out in the world as I type this on June 10. We see this all over the news.
All the archetypal players in conflict in the sky right now are present in what’s unfolding in the streets: Saturn (borders, restriction, blockades), Neptune (dissolution, compassion, idealization), Jupiter (protection, homeland, nation, justice), Mars (aggression, militancy, fire, rage) and Uranus (liberation, revolution, disruption, chaos).
On June 14 (Trump’s solar return and Mars return) there is a large military pageant planned in Washington D.C. to celebrate both the 250th anniversary of the U.S. military and the President’s birthday. Add this to the mix and I feel it’s inevitable that the civil conflict we’re seeing now will escalate, and perhaps turn very violent. I truly hope I am very wrong about that.
Hopefully the benevolent Jupiterian traits available in Cancer now will prevail in uniting and restoring a sense of family and peace, and not the darker, more wrathful, protective side of Jupiter in Cancer that defends home, family and nation at all cost.
After this final square of the sequence, we’ll start to see the road ahead much more clearly and better understand the unfolding consequences of everything that’s taken place in the world and in our lives since the first Jupiter/Saturn square in August 2024.
This Jupiter/Saturn cycle takes 20 years to complete, and now that we are one quarter of the way through it, the socio-political seeds that were planted during the first winter of 2020 are materializing, for better or worse.
The next pivotal period in this cycle will begin on December 22, 2029 at 18 Scorpio/Taurus with the first of a series of Jupiter/Saturn oppositions.
